Abstract

A 1.25/10.3Gbit/s dual-rate burst-mode receiver is proposed, which uses a tunable lowpass filter to change the sensitivity for each bit rate and an output-port selector to switch the output port according to the input bit rate. It is demonstrated that this receiver can realise a high sensitivity, a wide dynamic range, and a high-speed response with long consecutive identical digit signals.
