    Abstract

This paper proposes a novel quasi-resonant soft-switching Z-source inverter. On the basis of the Z-source inverter topology, the proposed inverter inherits the features of high voltage boost ability and circuit simplicity. A quasi-resonant network with only one auxiliary switch is employed to achieve the soft-switching scheme. All switches in the inverter bridge are turned on and off under zero-voltage switching condition. The simulation results are given to illustrate the soft-switching characteristics, which verify the theoretical analysis. Working at the switching frequency of 40kHz, the overall efficiency of 92% at full load which is 9.5%'s improvement, confirms the proposal.
