Abstract

With the progress being made in information technology, many photos can be taken and shared. In addition, we have more chances to see evaluated photos and see more photos shared with others on social media. Moreover, there is more information available about how to take better photos. Herein, we create a photocomposition search system called PCSS to develop photography skills. PCSS is created with the idea of “learning by looking”. In this research, we evaluated and experimented with PCSS at a university and in a city park. Although the participants did not feel that they were good at photography, they received some photocomposition knowledge from PCSS.
