Abstract

I conducted a questionnaire survey based on the "10 biggest hits in recent years in Japan" as part of my research into features in innovative product design. The results of this survey show that innovative products materialize their "latent required functions," and have a "great impact on society". Therefore, in this paper, I would like to propose "Innovation Oriented -VE", reasonably defining and creating "latent functions". To put it more concretely, I describe near future scenarios about next generation products by utilizing "Multi-screen Method" and "Patterns of Technical Evolution" in TRIZ field and organize defined latent required functions systematically from the scenarios and create the highly-valued conceptual design based on VE approach.
