Abstract

Since most of business users handle the Internet as an indispensable tool, we believe that home users, including those in small offices and home offices (SOHO), will need faster and more convenient telecommunication environments, as internetworking personal computers and intelligent appliances become common and the Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) plan makes progress. In this paper, we overview the aim and the underlying connectionless networking technologies for Global Megamedia Networks (GMN), which is a next-generation computer network infrastructure and a solution to the needs of home users.
