Abstract

This paper describes a novel acceleration method that improves the convergence characteristics of the time-stepping finite element analysis for a rotating machine excited from a constant voltage source. In the proposed method, we utilize the equivalent circuit of a rotating machine and its transient current waveform characteristics. Some numerical results, which demonstrate the validity of the proposed method, are also presented.
