Abstract
In order to analyze the influence of lifestyle and season on residential electric power consumption, we measured the electric power consumption in every circuit and electrical equipment at 1-s intervals. Using this data, we estimated the operating times of main electrical equipment. Furthermore, we analyzed the peaks of the electric power consumption measured at 1-s and 1-min intervals to determine the influence of the difference in the measurement intervals on the peak. We found that lifestyle can be estimated from finegrained data, that electric power consumption profile is greatly influenced by lifestyle and season, and that peak electric power consumption measured at 1-s intervals differs considerably from that measured at 1-min intervals.
