Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new approach to execute approximate reasoning on fuzzy numbers. Besides applying the new approximate reasoning method to educational evaluation, we also introduce the ideas how we simplify the steps of approximate reasoning implemented on fuzzy numbers. Two fuzzy numbers appearing in this paper help us represent the evaluation in each evaluation item. The last section shows that the result obtained by the new approximate reasoning method is more appropriate than the one obtained by the conventional method (the extension principle of fuzzy number).
