Abstract

Ubiquitous proliferation of mobile devices calls for context aware services, considering location and time attribute simultaneously, in large area networks. Community system has been proposed to meet the varying requirements of users. This paper deals with provision of service assurance by letting each node autonomously decide the threshold value to initiate update highly volatile Time Distance variable. Depending upon position of node with respect to SP, this threshold value realizes balancing the trade-off between higher accuracy and traffic overhead. Moreover, by introducing the concept of locum cache, accuracy of system is improved parallel to significant decrease in overhead. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed technology in terms of improvement in accuracy and service assurance.
