Abstract
In order to ensure atomicity without knowing the entire system architecture and to realize it by each system autonomously, an autonomous two-phase commitment (A2PC) technique is proposed (Yongdong Tan et al., 1999). However, when the system has a complicated topology, such as a loop topology or mesh topology, the proposed A2PC method is not applicable. Because the A2PC assumes that the system has a straight or tree topology, it means that the terminator of the system is existent. In order to realize A2PC by ADS technology how to determine the terminator of the system must be resolved. Furthermore, while the system presents a topology without a terminator the transmission of commitment data in the system falls into circulating status. Due to this, in order to avoid circulated data transmission in the system, the autonomous message routing restraint technique becomes necessary. It means that the logical terminator must be determined by each system autonomously and dynamically according to the circumstance. In this paper, an autonomous topology recognition technique is proposed. It shows how to recognize the physical and logical terminator in the system.
