Abstract
The space-charge-formation characteristics of ethylene-styrene copolymer were investigated on the basis of DC conduction, TSC (thermally stimulated current), TPC (thermal pulse current), RIC (radiation-induced current), and vacuum-ultraviolet spectroscopy measurements. The results suggest that benzene rings act as trapping centers when the styrene content is as low as 0.2 wt.%, but that they tend to assist carrier transportation due to the overlap of π-electron clouds.
