Abstract

Key techniques have been developed for applying the TMN concept to a wide range of communications systems having different hardware, application programs, and operational services. The techniques are based on a reusable software environment and agent functions. The reusable software environment is composed of software selection techniques, customized data-tuning techniques, and operational service creation techniques. The tools supporting the operational service creation techniques make platform software widely applicable to TMN-based communication systems.
