Abstract

The applicability of four different modern heuristic algorithms (MHA) in the service restoration problem in the power industry was discussed. The four different MHA are: genetic algorithm (GA), parallel simulated annealing (PSA), tabu search (TS) and reactive tabu search (RTS). Results showed the feasibility of the algorithms for service restoration for a typical distribution network.
