Abstract

In the present work, cyclic voltammetry and O//2 reduction measurements on thin coating of a high surface area carbon on a rotating disk electrode have been performed both with iron phthalocyanine (FePc) and tetrasulfonated FePc (FeTsPc) pre-adsorbed on the carbon in order to gain insight into this phenomenon. In addition, preliminary results will be presented for an N-substituted(phenyl ring) FePc compound with significant solubility in acid solutions and its behavior compared with that obtained earlier by J. Zagal et al. for FeTsPc.
