Abstract

We propose an enhanced multicast routing protocol called as DCBT (Decentralized Core based Tree). It accommodates some features of CBT (Core Based Tree), PIM-SM (Protocol Independent Multicast-Sparse Mode) and BGMP (Border Gateway Multicast Protocol). However, fundamentally its architecture differs from those in that it covers not only intra-region but also inter-region networks. Additionally we introduce a new concept of RBTS (Region Based Tree Switching) to achieve network load balancing and the extended concept of differentiated service to perform special multicast routing decision. Finally we will provide simulation results by OPNET network simulator over the real scale network model.
