Abstract
The half-life of 97gTc was re-measured using the parental relations between 97Ru and 97m,gTc, and the isotope dilution method for determining the number of atoms, and γ and X-ray spectrometry for determining the absolute disintegration rate. The proposed half-life is (4.21 ± 0.16) × 106 yr. The half life of 97mTc and the EC-decay branching ratio of 97mTc to 97Mo were determined to be (91.4 ± 0.8) d and (3.94 ± 0.18)%, respectively. The EC decay branching ratio of 97Ru to 97mTc was also re-determined to be (1.71 ± 0.02) × 10-4.
