Abstract
The miniaturization of Silicon-on-Insulator optical biosensors requires novel ways to input and output the light from the chip. In this paper we propose the use of lateral Bragg gratings for doubling the sensing area while maintaining a compact design. The design was carried out with FDTD simulations and fabricated with nanotechnology.
