Abstract
We have designed artificial blood containing red blood cell substitutes and/or platelet substitutes. The substitutes are made from nanoparticles such as liposomes and are required to have high stability and safety as well as high efficiency because large amounts of the nanoparticles will be infused in comparison with conventional carriers for drug. Herein, we introduce the design of the nanoparticles modified with polyethyleneglycol chains and their properties as red blood cell substitutes and platelet substitutes.
