Abstract

We developed broadband 8×8 and 16×16 circular waveguide array antennas with V-band connector interface for millimetre-wave video transmission system. Broadband and low cost are the system requirements for the antenna. The maximum antenna gains at V band are 26dBi and 30dBi for 8×8 array and 16×16 array, respectively. 3dB bandwidths of both antennas are as wide as 8GHz (13%). For low cost requirement, we made plastic body antenna, and compared the characteristics with the aluminium body. We obtain the almost the same characteristics for both antennas.
