Abstract

Many researchers have been trying to solve existing traffic problems. One potential solution to these problems is the reduction of reduce traffic volume in urban areas. In order to reduce traffic volumes, the modal shift from conventional passenger vehicles to public transportation and eco-vehicles, including personal vehicles should be considered. We have primarily focused on personal mobility and sharing systems, and proposed a new concept for a mobility sharing system. This paper explains the idea of a mobility sharing system, including discussion about a reservation server, system flow, mobility stations, mobile systems equipped on personal mobility, and experimental plan and results. The main feature of the proposed system is to gather and store the experimental data about mobility sharing. The proposed experiment is one of the pilot programs, and its result is valuable for evaluating the social receptivity, safety, and efficiency of a mobility sharing system.
