    Abstract

This paper introduces a new mooring system using a yoke developed for a floating pier (landing stage). The system consists of a rigid yoke and additional mooring devices having soft spring characteristics. Development of the system was carried out on the basis of numerical calculations with a linear potential theory. Motion tests in waves were carried out in a test basin using a pontoon model with a scale of 1/20. The present mooring system was verified experimentally to have excellent characteristics in shallow water.
