Abstract

The Committee was started in January 1981. Eighteen meetings including small working group meetings were held till July 1982 to investigate an effect of radiation on the electrical insulating materials. In these meetings, the Committee have investigated on (1) an equivalency of beta / gamma and n/ gamma radiation damage, (2) a survey of the fast neutron generator and its application to develop a radiation resistant insulator for fusion reactor, (3) relation between radiation resistant and fire-resistant properties, (4) the effect of simulated LOCA conditions on the degradation of insulating materials. A study meeting was held in December 1981 and 15 papers were presented on the LOCA testing and non-flammability. Another study meeting on an optical fiber was held in February 1982 and 9 papers were reported.
