Abstract

(Graph Presented) Cell diagnosis: The oxygen distribution in the interior of operating fuel cells can be visualized by using dye films painted on the transparent gas flow field (see image). The spatial and time resolutions are 300 mm and 500 ms, respectively. The oxygen distribution in a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell was not in accordance with that expected from the current, suggesting a significant contribution from water.
