Abstract
Fatigue strength was discussed on α-iron having fine grain size and dispersed nano-particles. The α-iron having fine grain size was fabricated by cast method and hot rolling method, while α-iron having dispersion nano-particles was prepared by powder metallurgy and hot rolling process. The fatigue test was performed by rotating bending fatigue testing machine using the bar type of specimen of 3.5 mm in diameter. Fatigue strength for α-iron having fine grain size was about 300MPa, while for α-iron having dispersion nano-particles the fatigue strength was about 500MPa. Those fatigue data were higher than those of JIS S25C carbon steel normalized and JIS S55C carbon steel tempered at 600°C.
