    Abstract

The paper presents an efficient computational algorithm for selecting the optimal generation mix under uncertain circumstances. The proposed method is based on dynamic programming is extended by using the Bellman-Zadeh maximizing decision. In this method, each generation technology and generation capacity are selected as stage and state, respectively. It also accomodates fuzziness and other constraints of generation expansion planning such as integer solutions of unit capacities, conditions of existing units. It can also use the arbitrary shape of membership functions.
