Abstract

Electrical and mechanical properties of gamma -ray irradiated triazine modified type epoxy resin were investigated. Electrical conductivity was measured in saturated water vapor and in air at high temperatures. Effects of gamma -ray irradiation and exposure to high-temperature vapor or air were also studied. Conduction behaviors can be explained by considering the scission of molecular chains by gamma -rays, crosslinking due to high temperatures in air, and change in the number of charged carriers under exposure to water vapor.
