Abstract

The locomotive type HD300 is a developed diesel hybrid shunting locomotive. The series hybrid system of the type HD300 is composed of a diesel engine and a lithium-ion battery. As a result of a hauling test, the type HD300 achieves environmental load reduction compared with a conventional diesel shunting locomotive. This paper shows an environmental evaluation while revealing factors of reduction effects.
