Abstract
In recent years, high-performance facade systems such as air-flow windows (hereinafter called AFW) and double skins (hereinafter called DS) are generally introduced to reduce the perimeter heat load. But these systems have complicated structure, so it is examined if high thermal performance can be achieved by using simpler facade systems. In this study, thermal performances of the simple facade with low-e glass and automatically blinds are evaluated based on field measurements in summer and winter. In summer, the thermal transmittance of the facade is 1.2, the shading coefficient is 0.14. In winter, those are 1.7, and 0.18-0.21. By comparing the performance with other high-performance facades, it was shown that the thermal performance of the facade was almost the same as high-performance facades.
