    Abstract

Abrasive properties of coals and fly ashes vary very much depending on the coal-yielding countries and areas. The wear prediction technique considering mineral matter constituents in coal and fly-ash for pulverizer and convection parts in boiler plants is introduced. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. , Japan, have successfully applied the developed technique to wear protection design of several kinds of coal or ash-handling machines for high reliability and life-span.
