Abstract

Pipelines related to various industrial applications usually degrade within a few years due to erosion and corrosions, such as steel pipes in factories, PVC/steel pipes used for water and gas supply. Similar deteriorations also occur for ceramic pipes, concrete pipes, and other metallic pipes. In order to inspect and repair these pipes, flexible automatic inspection robot is needed. In addition, for controlling the inspection robot and transmitting the collected data to terminal station which is located at the pipe inlet, wireless communication system is essential.
