Abstract

A Michelson interferometer-type wavelength converter utilizing cross-phase modulation (XPM) of semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA) integrated with a multi-mode interference coupler (MMIC) was developed. XPM of the converted light by 9.0 dB was attained by introducing the Signal light. A plot showing the relation between the signal light power and output light power was plotted.
