    Abstract

The Taylor series expansion method has been proposed to solve the problem associated with the computing time in the stability analysis of power systems. One problem of the method is that the function form of the energy function cannot be determined definitely because it is difficult to integrate analytically the term of transfer conductance. This paper proposes executing the Taylor series expansion using algebraic processing language 'REDUCE' which is used widely in the fields of chemistry and physics. A method is also proposed to solve the transfer conductance problem by means of Taylor series expansion. Superiority of the proposed method to the Ribbens-Pavella method is demonstrated by simulation.
