Abstract
The fatigue durability of an arc-shaped member made of prestressed concrete is clarified through experimental and analytical work. The fatigue load is applied from both sides of a specimen repeatedly, which is supposed to be wave forces acting on the member. The fatigue strength of the member subjected to the alternate load is comparatively smaller than that subjected to the one-direction load. Furthermore, Miner's rule is applied to predict and examine the fatigue durability of the member due to waves in offshore regions around Japan. From the results of those, the applicability of the member to offshore structures is confirmed from the viewpoint of fatigue durability.
