    Abstract

A finite horizon, time varying, mixed H2 and H control problem (Bernstein and Haddad type problem) is considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for existence of the solutions in the state feedback case and in the output (dynamic) feedback case. The conditions provide an explicit formula for the mixed H2 and H controller in each case.
