Abstract

We demonstrate the first 7-core erbium-doped fibre amplified transmission of 40 x 128-Gbit/s PDM-QPSK signals over 6,160-km 7-core transmission fibre. We achieve a record capacity-distance product of 177 [Pbit/s x km] per fibre.
