Abstract

In this study, a finite element complex modal analysis method modified with a dummy gyroscopic matrix is presented which is applicable to various types of dynamic response problems of rotor systems. Numerical examples taken here show the validity and effectiveness of the proposed method, for instance, it is seen that the method enables us to solve the dynamic response of a rotor system passing through its critical speeds whose base is subjected to a ground motion.
