Abstract

We propose a generation method for arbitrary patterned optical pulse trains for ultra-wideband signal generation in the terahertz (THz) range. Arbitrary-patterned optical pulse trains were generated by a Mach-Zehnder-modulator-based flat comb generator combined with a pulse picker driven by a pulse pattern generator.
