Abstract

Grafted polyelectrolyte coatings were obtained by surface-initiated atom transfer radical poly-merization on an aluminum surface. Their chemical composition was verified by X-ray photoelectron spec-troscopy and Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy. The morphology of grafted polymer coatings on an aluminium surface was studied by atomic-force and scanning electron microscopy and the possibility of adjusting its hydrophilic properties in wide range was established.
