Abstract
We have studied prototypes of platelet substitutes by conjugating the dodecapeptide (H12); a part of the amino acid sequence of fibrinogen, to the surface of polymerized albumin particles (polyAlb) or phospholipid vesicles (vesicle). Both H12-polyAlb and H12-vesicle showed a hemostatic effect, based on the analysis of the tail bleeding time of thrombocytopenic rats. The H12-polyAlb was more effective than the H12-vesicle.
