Abstract

The effect of heat-treament on magnetic and structural properties of electroless-plateds CoNiReP films with various compositions, by mainly varying Co content, were investigated, not only to estimate their thermal stability but also to assume their microstructure at the as-deposited conditions. The magnetic properties of the films with high crystallinity changed widely. The Co32Ni55Re6P7 film with the largest perpendicular magnetic anisotropy maintained its 〈002〉 oriented hcp structure and perpendicular magneticv anisotropy with the heat treatment up to 500°C. The treatment higher than 600°C altered the crystal structure of the film from the dominqtion of hcp structure into that of fcc structure, causing the sharp change in magnetic properties of the films.
