Abstract

Spatiotemporal patterns in chains of coupled biological oscillators with boundaries were investigated. A couple oscillator model was proposed in chains with a hidden oscillator interconnecting the boundaries. The It was observed that inhomogeneous systems showed significant decrease of frequency of D 4 symmetric pattern irrespective of the coupling strength. The results shows that the traveling wave pattern does not maintain the Z 2 symmetry.
