    Abstract

We report a 30-110 GHz, high conversion gain, and high output photodetector consisting of a hybrid integration of a high-speed photodetector and an RF amplifier with an additional gain emphasis circuit. High data-rate photonic wireless communication over 44 Gbps was demonstrated with a pre-distortion technique. The minimum optical input power level for an error free operation was also discussed.
