Abstract

This paper describes a hybrid approach of the finite element method and the boundary type solutions, i.e. the Trefftz method and the boundary element method, for analyzing the magnetic field in rotating machines. This approach has the advantage of obtaining continuous physical quantities precisely without the singularities in calculating boundary integrals. Its application to a concrete model is also presented.
