Abstract

For the operation of a waterworks system, factors such as effective water resources utilization, economical facilities operation, accident prevention, and impartial service to consumers are considered. HYNETS (Hydraulic Network Simulators) is a set of simulation systems for computers to support operational personnel in exploring effective total waterworks system operation, so that they may accomplish the above requirements. It consists of the following systems: (1) Dam-Flow Prediction, (2) Supply Prediction, 93) Distribution Network Simulation, and (4) Conveyance Network Simulation. These systems utilize models that reflect the waterworks system mechanism to provide tools for prediction, optimization and analysis. They have been installed in the Waterworks operation center in Tokyo and their effectiveness has been highy evaluated.
