title = "Influence of nano-particle agglomeration on the catalytic properties of MFI zeolite",
abstract = "Microstructures of spherical and coffin-shaped MFI zeolite and its effect on the catalytic activity for cumene cracking were studied. While spherical MFI was composed of nanoparticles, coffin-shaped one has a layered structure where nanoparticles with ~ 30 nm in size were accumulated on the dense core. Both the thickness of nano-particles layer and mesopore volume linearly correlated with the activity for cumene cracking, suggesting that the mesopores in MFI particles formed during nanoparticles agglomeration, and that the reaction rate of cumene cracking was significantly affected by the diffusion of cumene molecule in the nanoparticles agglomerating layer. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 13th International Zeolite Conference (Montpellier, France 7/8-13/2001).",
