Abstract
Poly(phenylenevinylene) was selected as a linear polymer-type magnetic coupler in polyradicals, because of its developed π-conjugation and solvent-solubility even after substitution on the phenylene ring. An intrachain and through-bond ferromagnetic interaction between the side-chain built-in radical groups was described for the chemically stable poly[4-(3′,5′-di-tert-butylphenoxy)-1,2-phenylenevinylene]. Effects of radical (spin) defects and molecular weight of the polyradical were discussed.
