Lean supply chain management controlled by kanban policy

Semi-conductor manufacturing in the current world is more competitive. Therefore companies are forced to look for way to improve their agility with the object of achieving the shorter production lead time, shorter delivery and finding compromise between inventory costs and customer needs. Supply chain management is a significant consideration in today's manufacturing industries particularly critical in the semi-conductor industry, due to a short market life-span and highly uncertain in future demand. Dealing with highly uncertain demand is an important factor for effective and efficient management of stochastic inventories in semi-conductor supply chain. This paper consider on a view of the second tier semi-conductor suppler in automotive industries with the aim of proposal to the stochastic model in order to attain an optimal inventories control policy. A representative problem such as information distortion in supply chain (bullwhip) and characteristic of long lead timue, short life cycle in semiconductor product. Based on historical data, we examine the performance of fluctuation demand in industry to develop an expectation model for inventory control management for firms in the industry. With the goals of archiving the minimum total inventory cost and response the needs in demand quickly. In this paper we investigate policies that use base stock level to define the production quantity(how much to produce and when to order the production). The results of this paper provide a decision support framework that guides the selection of optimal base stock inventory level based on kanban mechanism which provided us the best possible flow throughout the manufacturing system.
