Abstract
Phospholipid vesicle encapsulating concentrated human hemoglobin (Hb-vesicles) also known as liposomes is one of the candidates of oxygen carrier. In the manufacturing process, HbCO is converted to HbO 2, however it is inefficient because of the strong affinity of CO to Hb. We established a model device, that could convert HbCO to HbO 2in a liquid membrane. Using this device, we have achieve an efficient and contiguous conversion process of HbCO to HbO 2.
