    Abstract

The oxygen-binding ability of the liposome-embedded heme in various media left bracket phosphate or carbonate buffer solutions, dextran expander or human serum right bracket was evaluated in comparison with that of human blood. The liposome-embedded heme composed of the phospholipid with cholesterol, glycoprotein or polypeptide left bracket poly(L-leucine), poly(L-lysine) or poly(L-glutamic acid) were prepared, and their oxygen-binding ability was discussed.
