Abstract

In this paper, we present a Wireless Local Area Network protocol for Visible Light Communication (VLC WLAN) based on RTS/CTS. The proposed system is assumed to have a transmission rate of 1 Mb/s and to use visible light for downlinks and infrared rays for uplinks in a typical room. The system throughput is estimated via a MATLAB simulation.
